About us

We learned this on our own vehicles

Full Throttle Finishes is a paint and body shop in Endon, Stoke-on-Trent. We spent years getting our own vehicles right before we took in a single customer car, and the standard has not changed now that we do.

How we got here

For a long time this was not a business. It was our own vehicles, in our own time, refusing to settle for a finish that was nearly right. You learn a lot doing that. You learn where paint fails and why, you learn that an edge you got away with in the workshop will show up in the sun six months later, and you learn that most of a good finish is decided during prep, long before anything is sprayed.

We have opened up to customer work because enough people saw the cars and asked. What we do has not changed. Every car is colour-matched to its paint code and blended into the surrounding panels rather than stopped at the edge. Every finish is flatted and machine-polished by hand, then checked under corrected light before the keys go back.

Being new to customer work has one advantage worth saying out loud: we are not turning cars round to hit a quota. You will get a straight answer about what your car actually needs, what it will cost and how long we will have it, including the times when the straight answer is that the repair is not worth doing.

What that means for your car

We would rather take one car and get it right than take three and rush them. If that means telling you we cannot start until next month, we will tell you that instead of booking you in and letting the car sit. And if you are not sure whether something is worth repairing at all, bring it down or send photos. We will tell you honestly either way, and it costs you nothing to ask.

Where we work

The booth

The low-bake spray booth at the Full Throttle Finishes workshop in Endon

Everything is sprayed and baked in our own low-bake booth, under filtered air and corrected light. It is the part of the job nobody sees and the part that decides whether a finish stays flat six months later.

Working indoors, in a sealed booth, is also why we can give you a straight answer on timings. Weather does not get a say.
